Jeep's 75th anniversary is starting on a high note, as the brand has secured U.S. and global sales records. Jeep had already topped last year's record in early November, but the final total won't be known until December sales are reported this week.

In 2014, Jeep brand topped 1,017,000 in sales, the first time the brand had broken the one million sales mark. By December of 2015, FCA reported that the brand had seen sales rise more than 20 percent through much of the year, and was on pace to close things out around 1.2 million vehicles sold. Despite the impressive 2015 showing, a few recent developments may set Jeep brand up for an even more successful 2016.

With a new Renegade plant in Pernambuco, Brazil, and a new Cherokee plant in Changsha, China, the company is ramping up production to increase sales in Latin America and Asia, respectively. Furthermore, Jeep will be replacing Compass and Patriot models with a new model called the C-SUV.
