It's no surprise the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a popular model in Danville, KY. Not only is it a best-selling model here at Bob Allen Chrysler Dodge Jeep & RAM, but across the country. The SUV recently celebrated an honorable milestone with the five millionth model rolling off the production line at Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant. It's notable also because at one point this plant was slated to shut down, but just last year nearly 1,100 new jobs were created there.

After the auto crumble of 2000, the Grand Cherokee was a trail making model as the first product introduced back to the market. The model has helped the Jeep brand reach great success as the most decorated SUV of all time. This special five millionth model shines in a silver paint job and was given to the United States Service Organizations.

Vice President of Manufacturing for Chrysler, Scott Garberding, applauds the dedicated worker building Jeep models, saying, "I continue to be impressed by the commitment that is demonstrated here every day. As sales of the Grand Cherokee continue to increase to record levels, we are asking our employees to do more and they have responded by rising to the challenge. They are the heart and soul of this plant and this company, and have been entrusted to build a vehicle that is critical to the continued success of Chrysler Group."1
